In and out and roundabout
The ruins slowly change
Crumbling with age the stone flakes gather
Sleeping memories return
On colors thin as wings
Whisper on the wind across the water
Headstones on the shoreline
Silent sentinels are sleeping
Ever watchful for the first light
Dawn comes softly creeping
Calling through the sky
The seabirds ageless flight path wheeling
In and out and roundabout
The Phoenix will appear
So clear
In and out and round about
The living nightmares run
First to spike the gun will be a hero
Light the sky at night tonight
The light is from the stars
War the God of Mars is bathed in yellow
As the abbey walls resound
Unto the congregation
Headstones nestle closer to
The crusted ivy stone
Couching at the altar in the shadows
Lies the Phoenix
Dying as the bishop
Runs his fingers through the gold
So old
